76% of all federal contracts have fewer than five competitors and many of those contracts utilize simplified acquisition procedures for award. Many Contracting Officers use simplified acquisition for fast, easy award process for contracts up to $750,000.

Simplified Acquisition can be utilized for products and/or services. The majority of these contracts happen in the final days of the fiscal year – by 9/30/2023. These contracts are only available to small businesses and some require a specific socio-economic certification.

This briefing will review how to identify, request, and respond to simplified acquisition opportunities.
