About the Speaker

Jonathan Winger is a co-inventor of the H-NOX technology that underlies Omniox’s OMX therapeutics, with more than 20 years of experience producing and studying H-NOX and other proteins. As CEO, he is responsible for the company’s strategic vision, operational execution, financial performance, and intellectual property portfolio. Before stepping into that role, he oversaw the design and characterization of candidate OMX therapeutics, directed process and analytical development, and managed the manufacture of clinical material. Prior to Omniox, Jonathan was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, where he applied biochemistry and structural biology to the study of H-NOX proteins, kinases, and other targets. He received his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Michigan, using spectroscopy and enzymology to investigate the role of soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC), an H-NOX-containing protein, in nitric oxide signaling. That work helped inspire the founding of Omniox. Jonathan has authored numerous research papers and abstracts, co-authored several book chapters, and is a principal investigator on multiple research grants. He is also an inventor on multiple patents.
