Overview

This briefing is scheduled for 60 minutes and will address EPA’s challenges with collecting and managing massive amounts of data every year (e.g., EPA/ORD’s participatory science data collection efforts). Data integrity, quality, and efficiency are critical and e-Study provides best practices for effective design protocols to ensure data quality that minimizes data cleansing delays and costs.

Included in this briefing will be a design review of e-Study iAdvantage platform that can be used in support of EPA and USDA data collection studies. The review will include design protocols that can be utilized in scientific studies and trials as well as surveys that require high levels of data integrity with real-time oversight for project management. The e-Study data collection platform is consistent with the EPA-State E-Enterprise for the Environment’s goal of improving data quality through increased collaboration in environmental data and system sharing among EPA, states, and tribes to better achieve environmental protection benefits.
