Overview

This briefing will provide insider insight and discuss key discriminators and best practices that industry must demonstrate to compete and win contracts for integration of responsible AI into the DoD ecosystem. This is important because as AI continues to expand exponentially in the US and abroad, a fundamental tenet for DoD is to implement a responsible AI strategy that enables DoD to adopt the power of AI at speed and scale, while recognizing that other governments will not follow the same “rule set” as the US and its allies.

As White House AI policies continue to evolve, DoD leadership is aggressively pursuing answers from industry to meet its Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence Adoption Strategy released in June 2023. Per Kathleen Hicks, Deputy Secretary of Defense, "This Strategy serves as a guide for how we will strengthen the organizational environment in which DoD deploys data, analytics, and AI capabilities for enduring decision advantage.”
